Swimming Recount

Hey!!  Why is everyone yelling? Then I looked in wonder, it was a new swimming pool. When our class finally got to hop into the pool the first thing we learnt was freestyle. We learnt that freestyle uses up a lot of energy.  Freestyle means you can swim faster when you swim short distances.  Then we had to show Ms. Kirkpatrick how we do freestyle, if you did it well we would stay with Ms. Kirkpatrick, and if we didn’t do the technique right we would go to Mr Burton. Mr Burton is the swimming instructor .

The next thing we learnt was backstroke.  Backstroke is a little bit difficult at first but then I caught on and it was easy. Backstroke  uses up a little bit of energy but not a lot of energy like freestyle.

The next day we did ten laps of running in the pool it was tiring.  Next we learnt a new way of swimming, called stingray. Stingray is when you lie on your back and your arms go backwards and forward and you kick your legs as well, it was a lot of fun.

On Friday some lucky people were picked to do snorkeling, everyone was excited. When we got there it was very warm.  When we hopped into the pool everyone said, “This is so nice and warm.”  Then we got the mask and the snorkle. It was hard at first but then I got it we all had fun swimming in the pool.

I’m upset that the pool is getting packed away.   I can’t wait until it comes back next year.  I hope we do more sessions next year and learn more swimming skills.

Holiday Recount

Holiday Recount

During the holidays I went to this amazing fun zone called Big ups, I went with my brother. Big ups is in Three Kings.  It is an inflatable fun land it has: Soccer, Gladiator fighting, Boxing, Sumo wrestling, Big balls, and more.

The first thing we played was in the big balls they were very fun.  I hit Cody right over.  We had lots of fun playing in the big balls.  You had to try to knock over inflatable bowling pins that was awesome.  

The next thing we went on was boxing.  It was funny, we had a lot of fun playing boxing.  I kicked Cody then he kicked me.  I made him fall over so I won.

The next thing we played was soccer.  Soccer was awesome me and my brother played against each other.  I scored the first goal.  Then we asked other people if they want to play, they said yes.  We played for hours and hours with our new friends.

We had lots of fun playing at big ups.  I hope we can play at big ups again, but with more people next time.  I wish we didn’t have to leave.

My time at the Museum.

Hooray we were going to the Museum on Tuesday November 1st 2011. In my group I had: Kobe, Addnan, Cody N, Jacob and my dad Craig was in my group. We went to the Museum, because we were learning about treasure. I was so excited to go to the Museum. The first place we went to was the Maori part of the Museum. We saw a huge Waka with a carving and with lots and lots of seats.

The next place we went to was the Natural discovery place of the Museum. There were: Moas, Kiwis, Penguins, Birds, Fosils and Dinosaurs. We saw different types of birds.

The next place we went to was the swamp. There was a bird hiding in the grass and there was a fake bird in the water swimming in the water.

After that we went and had our lunch. We got to play bull rush it was heaps of fun.

Then if we were finished our lunch, we were allowed to have some free time and just look at different stuff. But only on the first floor. I enjoyed looking at the exhibits. Then we had to go back to school on the bus. I wish we could go back to the Museum again.
